Garlic Butter Boiled Steak
A delicious recipe that one of our team gave us.
Ingredients
Steaks: 2 thick-cut steaks (NY strip, Ribeye, or Wagyu)
Butter: 2–5 lbs (enough to submerge)
Aromatics: 1-2 whole garlic bulbs (halved) or crushed cloves, fresh rosemary, and thyme
Seasoning: Salt and black pepper
Instructions
Prep: Bring steaks to room temperature and season generously with salt and pepper.
Butter Bath: In a Dutch oven, melt the butter over low heat, adding the garlic and herbs.
Cook: Submerge the steaks in the butter bath. Cover and cook in the oven at 250°F (120°C) for approximately 30–60 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 120°F.
Finish: Remove steaks from the butter and sear in a hot cast-iron skillet for about 1–2 minutes per side to develop a crust.
Rest: Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Alternatives
Pan-Sear Method: Sear in a skillet for 3–4 minutes per side, then add butter, garlic, and herbs, basting for the final 1–2 minutes.
Compound Butter: Mix softened butter with garlic, parsley, and lemon juice, then top steaks with it while resting.
