Abner and his family live in Honey Brook, PA on a 50+ acre farm. They have approximately 25 Jersey / Guernsey cross cows that produce delicious milk and cream as well as 200 pastured hens who produce corn and soy eggs. They also raise Corn and Soy free pastured turkey and the GMO free pastured chicken.
They are the 2nd generation on their farm and switched to organic farming over 5 years ago. Now Abner talks about how his cows are healthier and it is so much better financially. Which makes farming "fun again." Plus, he gets to work with his children every day.
Melvin and his family live on their 60 acre organic farm in Kinzers, PA. This partnership started differently than most. Five years ago we heard that Melvin was selling his dairy herd, so we approached him about leasing his farm for hay production. We came up with an agreement and as we got to know him better we learned that he really enjoys taking care of cows. The dynamics of our farm changed so we decided to offer him the opportunity to produce A2A2 cream for you. As of now they care for approx 18 Jersey and Jersey cross cows that produce delicious 100% A2A2 cream.
They also raise 20+ hogs a year feeding them skim milk (what is left when you remove the cream) as well as a corn and soy free grain mix.
During the summer they raise onions & other vegetables we sell.
Melvin really appreciates the opportunity to serve you all, especially since he is now able to stay at home on the farm and work with his children every day.
Beef Partners
Clair and his son hail from Myerstown, PA and raise Angus Beef as hobby on their Farm. Clair was our first beef partnership and has been partnering with us for over 15 years.
We have come to appreciate his commitment to provide all of us with truly 100% grass fed and finished beef.
Glenn and his family live in Lehigh County, PA managing over 200 acres of organic fields and pasture. Glenn has been producing 100% grass fed and finished Angus/Hereford Beef for over 12 years. He does an excellent job in producing beef that all of us can enjoy.
Using organic ingredients and traditional sprouted grains, Melvin and Linda Fisher at Walnut Run Farm produce a large variety of specialty baked goods.
Their specialty is the sourdough einkorn they use to make into delicious bread, dinner rolls, burger rolls, and crackers. They also make a variety desserts including seasonal pies and the dutch country favorite “whoopie pies”, similar to a creme filled cookie.
They create a variety of gluten and grain free items including our staff favorite donut holes and corn bread muffins.
It has been an honor partnering with Walnut Run Farm because they are serious about going the extra mile to source the best, cleanest ingredients available. Their slogan sums it up well, “Nourishment from our family to yours.”
Suplee Hollow Cereals produces high quality granola and granola bars using pre-soaked grains and seeds. All their granolas are wheat free!
Their offerings include: a raisin granola, nutola, einkorn gratenuts, three different granola bars and chocolate bark thins.
Suplee Hollow Cereal is owned and operate by John and Mary Smoker in Honeybook, PA and we’ve partnered with them since 2012.
Sweetwater Bakery Co. is owned and operated by Saul and Natalie Schwartz. They are part of the Kimberton Hills-Camphill village in Phoenixville, PA, an intentional living community providing homes and occupational opportunity for mentally handicapped individuals.
Their cornerstone item is their European style hearth bread. Using a sourdough starter to leaven the dough int he morning, they leave it to rise all day. Late afternoon they form it into loaves, then leave it to proof in the fridge overnight…early next morning they bake it up in their wood fired brick hearth oven.
They also make delicious cookies using organic ingredients and our GMO free pastured eggs. My personal favorite is their oatmeal raisin cookie!
We’ve partnered with the fine folks at Sweetwater Bakery Co since 2010.
Amos and his family live on their farm in Morgantown. Along with cows and horses they also care for a flock of 500 laying hens and have been providing eggs for over 10 years.
In addition to grass and insects (during the growing season) they’re unvaccinated hens also have access to a Non GMO, corn and soy free layer mash.
The eggs are gathered daily, gently packaged in cartons (and dirt spots are washed off with warm water) and refrigerated until they arrive at your doorstep.
FYI under the “laid on date” look for the initials AS as to know your eggs came from his flock.
